Mission Statement
Cold Narly has embarked on a mission to mold K-12 students' creativity at a young age which birthed Cold Narly Music Academy (CNMA). We are giving the youth the tools combined with mentorship to succeed in the music industry, which is full of opportunities for all ages. Providing a safe environment for creativity while developing their skills for a professional career.
How We Started
In 2017, CNMA launched an after-school program, forming partnerships with numerous schools across various cities. To expand, we are collaborating with community centers and local 501c3 organizations that share our mission, many of which now feature producer-designed recording studios and unique workshops. Our curriculum focuses on teaching students to create, produce, and perform contemporary music. Data demonstrates the effectiveness of utilizing CASEL’s SEL framework and Positive Literature, empowering CN Kids and their parents to use music to achieve their goals. Students receive mentorship from CN certified producers, artists, and engineers in music production and live performance. Cold Narly Music Academy reports increased student and parent engagement, attendance, and improvements in social and emotional skills. Hands-on activities include software operation, beat creation, songwriting, professional vocal recording, podcasting, and music business education.
What Our Students Learn
Introduction to Music Production & Business
Engage in conversations about music production. Students will learn the basics of running studio sessions and how to develop their own studio in the future. Understand the essential steps to create successful singles, EPs, and albums.
Songwriting & Rapping Arrangement
Transform your ideas into music that others can enjoy. You'll have the chance to discuss your lyrics with our producers to prepare for recording sessions.
Recording & Mixing Vocals
Master the art of improving recordings, making them perfect for platforms like Podcasts, Tidal, YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music.
Producing Beats 101
Learn to produce music like famous producers such as Pharrell, Timbaland, Kanye West, Murda Beatz, Martin Garrix, Metro Boomin, 9th Wonder, Lex Luger, and TM88 using software like FL Studio 20, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools.
